The term Amazónica comes from the name Amazonia, which is a tropical rainforest located in South America. It currently represents more than half of the planet's remaining tropical rainforests and comprises the greatest biodiversity in a tropical rainforest in the world. It is considered by many to be the “lung of the planet”.
